About The Engagement Edge

The Engagement Edge is the official blog of Cars Buy Text, where we share strategies, insights, and real-world success stories on how SMS is transforming automotive retail. Since 2013, we’ve helped dealerships nationwide generate over 1 million customer engagements from platforms like AutoTrader, Cars.com, and CarGurus — turning everyday ads into powerful text-driven sales channels.

Our mission is simple: help dealerships meet buyers where they are and close more deals through faster, smarter communication. Here you’ll find best practices, case studies, and actionable tips to keep your store ahead of the curve in today’s digital-first marketplace.

Because at the end of the day, customers don’t want to wait on hold or send emails into the void. They want answers now — and texting delivers.

“A perspective: I own a 911sc converted to an ev with a P100D motor in it. It’s the most fun car i’ve ever owned. I also have a beetle with a 60hp type 1 and that is also super fun. There’s room in the world for all types! I’m certain this 2002 has a soul and personality, will bring smiles to all who get to experience it, and would be a blast to drive. Good luck to the buyer and seller!”

“I was fortunate enough to be able to watch Chuck Wray’s shop prepare a Bizzarrini for Pebble Beach, years ago- I think it was 2003. It came second in the Giugiaro class, which (of course) was judged by Giugiaro; best in class was a Ghibli, which he mentioned was his favorite of his designs. The level of meticulous work and knowledge at Chuck’s shop has to be seen to be believed. As Frank said, back then not many knew that these cars even existed. Nice to see them getting their propers.”

They will never make cars like this again and nothing made right now even matches the visceral feel of this. When you have mass produced 911s going for 200-500k, it’s amazing that this is not going for more than 500k. Those cars are so boring compared to this!”

There were about 8 of us on 2 shifts that made certain that they were gone over with a fine tooth comb!! Often they were sent through clear coat x2 so they were perfectly done! We would hang a heavy metal washer from a wire inside the car from body shop so everyone knew it was a Marauder. They were signed off by 3 different people before they got shipped to chassis!”

It was $3000, but I traded in my 1 year old Motobecane moped, so net cash was $2400 (plus tax). Next year marks 60 years since the Maserati Ghibli was first unveiled at the 1966 Turin Motor Show.

At just 27 years old, Giorgetto Giugiaro at Ghia created a shape that was lower, wider, and more dramatic than anything else on the road, with its endless bonnet, razor-sharp nose, and clean, unbroken flanks. For Maserati, it marked a commercial turning point: with the rise of the Autostrada era, the Orsi family and engineer Giulio Alfieri set out…”
